Of course we will make this year’s NJF also unforgettable. But what makes this year’s edition extra unique, is that we work in a big, close team. The organisation is now literally: from circus, for circus. For years now, a big part of the team is traveling to a variety of circus conventions in The Netherlands and abroad. Also: many students, teachers and otherwise involved people have already stated to agree to make efforts for the organisation of the NJF. A couple of our organizers have organized in 2016 the biggest juggling convention in Europe: the European Juggling Convention (EJC).
What is also unique, is that the Dutch Acrobatics Convention (NAF) is also organized by Circus Amersfoort. This has never been done, while the conventions always take place a week after each other. The NAF is taking place from 18 to 21 may 2018. The joint organizing of the festivals knows many advantages, which are beneficial especially for you as a visitor!
Members of this organisation all originate from Circus Amersfoort, or have connections with Circus Amersfoort otherwise. Circus Amersfoort is a youth circus that is founded in 2004 by twelve acrobats. Currently, Circus Amersfoort has grown into one of the biggest youth circuses in The Netherlands, with ten groups weekly, an own building at the Wagenwerkplaats, a yearly circus camp, a yearly weekend full of own shows and a yearly theatre show in theatre De Lieve Vrouw. Despite Circus Amersfoort originally being a youth circus, there are now also multiple adult groups.
